harron, thanks man. The painting is always an on going learning process, and I am afraid I learned something new on this one.

Thanks for the encouragement and support guys.

Going to be switching gears a bit on this one. Seems PolyU and latex aren't a good match for the liquid masking technique. The poly sets up too hard, so when removing the latex most of the under lying paint comes off in the adjoining area as well.
No big deal, one thing I have learned to accept over the years is when you try something new you must be prepared to accept failure.

Bummer about the unexpected result with the Poly U and latex combo but, following your thoughts, the only way to find out is to try. It doesn't look like it wrecked the actual body though, so I look forward to seeing your next ideas once they are applied. AMT '57 Chrysler 300c: Redo/Tweak - Page 4 1705482731

Thanks for following along guys and for the support.

Well after a failed attempt to "clean" up the failed experiment it got chucked in the brake fluid. Turns out Tamiya polycarbonate paint is pretty resistant to the normal stripping agents we use. I had used Florecent Orange over Zero orange.

Anyway here is where I am now.

That pic of the 'stripped' body reminds me of many 'junkers' I've seen over the years. It looks like it's just a little pigment stain and not a serious build up of old paint though, hopefully the restoration goes smoothly.

Thanks Kats, Sam.

Tonight I messed around a bit, decided to get on with this redo and just letting the paint fall where it does. Not my most creative design to date. No idea where this is going to end up in a few days, there will be some lace and maybe some decals who knows. Thanks guys,

You'll all get a good laugh from this.

The inspiration for the colour scheme came from a very odd place. I work with a bunch of kids who are in their 20's who still wear their pants far too loose and the waste bands of their shorts are always showing, even with belts they are constantly hiking them up. The other day one of them had on shorts with a waste band with the colour fade of the colour I am using.

Thank you guys. harron, appreciate the compliment. I agree it was busy, it was going to wear on me.

This one may end up looking busy too. Got the pin stripping for the panels laid out and the poly sealer coat done. Still working out the panel treatments and colours. I will be working the watch gears into this somewhere again.

I am still working on how to do super tight turns with this stuff, wish they made vinyl mask this narrow.

A little more progress tonight.

I used dry transfer glue to hold the watch parts in place, it sets up very tacky.

Thanks for looking in.
