2010 Chrysler 300C Hearse
Well, some may remember this ambitious project I started many years ago. During a move the rear body work was absolutely destroyed beyond repair, but the body joints remained in tack. So, things have taken a slight turn for the best in my opinion as there was tons of problems with the first round of body work.
So lets catch everyone one up in a speedy fashion shall we?
This is where I started: 2 300C bodies being married to make a longer commercial frame.
The second body was cut and offered up:
Over nine inches in length! I think that should hold a 6' casket comfortably:

Re: 2010 Chrysler 300C Hearse
And here we are, July 2014, and I'm having to repair 2 yrs of hard work that was destroyed by one move. This move almost sabotaged this cars future as I was so disgusted I boxed it up and threw it in a drawer.
Well, I've had people begging me to finish it. So here I am working on it as well as the Duesey and Focus. So here she is, on the desk and coming together quickly.
Since these cars are custom coach built cars. This one is going to have custom body done now. I've remade new sides out of one piece of sheet stock instead of many. Need to redo the rear window frames and make a new door since the other one I made is MIA.
Here you can see where I am taking my time to make this a Koach Built car with sculpted sides that suit the body lines better.
Still undecided on color, but it'll have a vinyl top on it no matter what as I know there is going to be flaws and I can hide them under masking tape (aka vinyl top material). LoL Comments welcome!

Re: 2010 Chrysler 300C Hearse
Well, the rear end came together better than I thought. I have the rear braces glued in tight, corners cut, shaved, and contoured. The roof is done the same way, and I cut the door opening a tad bigger than the hole to give me a door jamb for the door to set against.
This is to show how much longer than stock the car is.
And a couple of mock up shots where its on it's wheels. Not bad if I say so myself.
Enjoy!

Honest opinions guys, Please? Do you think the roof is too tall and needs to come down a tad or do you think its fine like it is?
P.S. Nevermind! I cut off the roof and dropped it 1/4" inch I think that's roughly 2.5 to 4.5 inches in 1:25th scale!

It looks too tall to me for a hearse, looks about right for a camper

1/4 Inch is 6 inches. .250X25=6.25. or 6 and one quarter inches.I am glad you did I though it look a little tall.

Re: 2010 Chrysler 300C Hearse
Hey everyone. Its starting to look like a hearse now. I lopped off 8 to 10 scale inches out of the roof, added the vinyl roof trim, made a divider, and started the rear interior panels. Not much else on the body work now. Just tidy up a few things and get them ready for primer and paint. Not gonna do that just yet as I'm fiddlin' with hinges for the rear door, and the rear floor. So enjoy!
The hole in between the two pieces of trim is for the third brake light that I've made from scratch.
Interior panels:
Enjoy!

Re: 2010 Chrysler 300C Hearse
Thanx everyone! The comments and compliments go a long way with me and keep me motivated. I can say I've never had so much fun killing time and boredom with engineering parts and how they fit. Box stock? What's that??? LoL
Ok, We start on the inside since most of the outside stuff is done. I've made the divider and rear door panels already. So now its time to build upon that and make the rear load floor and side walls. I'm toying with a couple of ideas in my head about the floor, not sure if I'm going to execute them or not. We shall see. Enough of my blabbing. Here's where I'm at so far with about 2.5 hours worth of work.
I know the divider window is a li'l low, but after doing some research some of the newer cars like this for some reason. Also, pardon the pictures, but I took them with my phone and uploaded via Photobucket Mobile. ;) Enjoy!

I'm glad it's a complete makeover with interior finished. You have my full attention and enjoyment in this project. This idea could work for many other vehicles, whether a stretched Hudson, old Caddy, or any early '60s full size car. I imagine an Edsel!!

The quality engineering shows up in a great layout. Everything's coming together so well, you make it look easy.
