1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa

An old Revell Premium. Lots of detail and lots of work to do.






Much work gone into smoothing out and filling. I'm currently in the delicate process of cutting out the bonnet/hood.

Not a fan of the Targa style but I am a fan of your builds. Looking forward to this one.

I do like the aircooled 911, I'm looking forward to this one.

Not much to see under the front bonnet Dave except for a space saver, sounds like you have a plan, a V8 perhaps...lol

Looks like they provide decals for the psychedelic seat pattern! I bough the kit back in the day but couldn't figure how to get the seats right. Good luck, I'll await developments.

The alloys appear to be from a 944 Turbo US Spec so are too late for that model, they should be the Fuchs 5 spokes.

I have set of Turbo rims somewhere around here that you could narrow if you need them, but I'd imagine they are 16 inch.

No decals for the seats in this kit besides they are all shot with age.

I think the 'phone dial' wheels suit it quite well. I think this is from their brochure at the time, could be wrong.

Here's another issue of that kit.

Your new kit looks better in box art pic than the old ('80s?) kit foto.  Good luck on a good one!

No, obviously I'm wrong. Don't remember seeing them on a 3.2.

They do make a change from the Fuchs though Dave.

Are you sticking with red for the body colour?

I don't know which colour to go with yet. I'll take stock of what colours I have left then take it from there. I'm down to my last few.

Hi all, a lot of shaving, trimming and cutting to get these bits in satisfactorily. I'll raise the fuel tank a touch and add a little bit of sheet styrene to mimic the photos i'm using. I've decided to go with Titanium Silver for the colour.

Looks great, good colour choice.

X2, the black window trim is giving me a pain in the backside with my white 935.

Back in the day Tamiya had a flat black paint marker, it was so easy to use.

I was talking to Angelo (yes, he's still running the New York Mafia) and Testors still make one.

£31 in England, 8 bucks in the US. i have one on the way from NY along with a bottle of the Bob Smith non fogging superglue assuming he can post them, should egg me on a bit to finish something.

Lots of clean up for this.

Nice bit of detail for a Revell kit.

You no doubt will make this into another gem.
