Owned a few of these myself and have a couple kits. Our last one was an 85 drop top.

Nice red paint job. Great work on putting down the black trim - very clean.

Jeff, your mask lines are so sharp and clear. That's something I always have a problem with. Great start.

Hi Jeff,
Looking good, how on earth did you manage to mask in between the two pieces of trim...

Jeff, that is some neat masking. I always cross my fingers & hope when I peel off the masking.
What did you use for the masking?

Re: 1984 Mustang GT
Plain old Tamiya tape Chris. I
Andy I cut it in real thin strips and burnished it Right in there. Then I hit it with a coat of clear to seal it in before shooting the black. Also I did it in sections. I taped and sprayed the trim, then the windshield, then the headlights and grille. That way I only focused on one thing at time.

Thanks Jeff. I'll have to try some. Normally I use BMF to prevent bleed through.
Tamiya tape works a treat!

Hi Jeff,
Many thanks for that, all the hard work really paid off, it does look great...
May I also ask, when it came to removing the tape do you have to run a blade along the line first to save it from lifting the paint...

Very well done with the masking. I like your choice of color combo. What was it that made the paintjob so "nerve racking"?
