This Model A looks an interesting kit - not seen one before.
However the boxart/photo doesn't exactly sell it to me as it looks like a much smaller model,
with those aftermarket wheels appearing too small, but wih your mods it certainly makes it one worth building.

Skid, box art shows a hot rodded version with chrome steelies.
Further on you are showing some spoked wheels. Did you find some 1:16 aftermarket ones?

Clay, the story goes like this:
Couldn't find a standard sedan so eventually bought the rodded version hoping it might include the wire wheels.
It didn't but Minicraft sold me a set.

Really dedicated to perfection! When I did a 1/25 Revell A woody as abandoned kids' playhouse, I added stuff but not clutch linkage! At least in larger scale, it's a bit easier to do, but the desire to make things waaay better is strong. Thanx for all you do and share with us!

Hi Mr Skid Sir,Skid wrote:This is as good as the body is going to get methinks. I'm just totally fed up with the endless rounds of filling and sanding in those tight inside curves!!
Do you just use normal sand paper for the tight areas or do you use something else, I always struggle getting paper into tight areas...

Skid: I found substantially similar at a cosmetics store where my wife goes. They are a little coarse, but can really get into tight places.

With the little tank finished and the missing Belly Tanker parts still not found, this one is back on the bench.
Just had to read through the thread to refresh where I am up to!!!

Re: 1/16th Ford Model A (Police Sergeant's Car)
Now it really is back on the bench!! LOL
During the interim period, the putty work at the base of the passenger A pillar has cracked and will need further attention.
In the meantime and in consultation with JohnJ, our resident CHP expert, I have changed the interior colour to what is probably a more correct dark gray.....
.... and the wheels to black. They will be clear coated when I clear coat the body.

Re: 1/16th Ford Model A (Police Sergeant's Car)
All other stuff is off the bench and it's full steam ahead again with this one.
Next up is to make the pedals.
I have the brake and clutch figured but for the life of me I cannot find a single photo of the gas pedal arrangement.
Would it be one of these? And if so, what is the other one for? Parking brake?
Can anyone help please?

Re: 1/16th Ford Model A (Police Sergeant's Car)
If I am not mistaken the round pedal on the left is gas pedal and the one on the right is starter.

Re: 1/16th Ford Model A (Police Sergeant's Car)
I'm 99% sure Buck is right to a point. I know the starter was on the floor, but logically it would be the one on the left; less conflict with the gas pedal that way. Start the engine using the pedal to the left and then move your foot to the right to operate the gas pedal. For what it is worth....

Re: 1/16th Ford Model A (Police Sergeant's Car)
Looks like left round pedal is gas pedal and right one is the starter. Here's a You Tube link to a 1 minutehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uovjzCgX4hk starting of a model A . I have (but cannot find) a thick manual on restoring Model As that I used to superdetail a 1/25th scale Woody. There maybe something online from a Model A club or org, but I found nothing but books and parts for $ale.
