Race to the Cafe In The Sky.
This is said to be the finest bikers ride in the UK. Just twenty or so miles from me. Here is why:
This is the East side. Good straights and long open bends to the summit.
And here is the descent down the West side. It ends in the village at about 5.30
Back in 1997, when I was twenty years younger, I drove the entire length from Alson to Melmerby (11 miles) early doors (3,30am) on a mid summers morning, in my Subaru Impreza Turbo and averaged 70mph. Stupid? probably, exhilarating?...... oh yes!!!

Re: Race to the Cafe In The Sky.
A friend and I went to the Cumbria Classic and Motorsport show yesterday and naturally I took Sissy.
As we were going the Trans Pennine Route, (Hartside Pass) I was a bit concerned how she would perform on the eastbound climb. (1350ft) I needn't have worried though, she came all the way up in third gear, never needing second even on the steep hairpins.
When we were at the show, I got to sit in this:
Now I'll say this before Shay does, even with the door closed, there weren't no need for a Gurney Bubble. LOL

Re: Race to the Cafe In The Sky.
GOTCHYA Shay!!!.
Don't know which kit but it is an older build and has a very authentic feel to it as well as a 305cid lump in the rear producing 450bhp.
She did make me proud Shay. Not sure what the queue of traffic behind us made of us though!! LOL

And I've never even been anywhere near Manchester. Well, apart from the time I got lost going to a wedding in Newcastle.
