No prob Al.

I started working on the doors using the finish sampler.  The stuff is less than a millimeter thick so no problem being in scale there.

First I laid some tape on the outside doors and rubbed a pencil over the door lines and transfered the tape on the back of the wood.

I pulled the saw out, cut away and sanded off the rough edges.  It worked really nicely when cutting with the grain but against it I experienced some small chipping but should have no problem touching it up.  I used the rotary tool to round the bottom corners.

I used white glue for the mock up but not sure yet what I will use when I glue it on fabric permanently.

Here is the dashboard I cut up using the one from the kit as a template.  Now I just need to get me some nice gauges.

All feedback is appreciated and thanks for dropping by!

The wood looks great Denis but would the steering column support be made of wood? I suppose it could be covered in wood. Either way it looks great.

Thanks guys!

Al - Yes it will be wood covered. I will be sanding off the details from the original dash and put it behind, without it not only the column support would not be believable but the wood dash is much thinner and be too recessed.

Since I'm gaining a new engine from the Hudson Hornet I bought for the chrome tree I thought I would check the fit of it in this hot rod.

Well go figure it does fit!  I would need to modify the anchors slightly and should have no problems there.

From the inside I might have to modify the firewall as well.

I could run a single pipe from the engine behind the fender which I think would be unique for a hot rod.

So let me know what your thoughts are.  Go with the twins or sticking with the Windsor from the Shelby?

Too many V8's in hot rods Denis.

The HH engine is a real winner in my book.

Replace the kit carbs with some Strombergs, ditch the air cleaners and with some detail painting, you'll have a winner IMO.

Looks like everyone like the this engine better.

Al. I will have a look in the parts box and see what I can come up with. This one will go in the Hudson as planned and build the other for the rod without these air cleaners.

Go with the Hudson engine Dennis, It will be more unique. Keep the kit carbs as they look good, and use some old style filters, or maybe some frogmouth scoops.

The ford engine is not a Windsor, the Revell '69 GT500's used a 428 FE big block.

I have seen quite a few rat rod type models at shows with the Hudson engine in them. I think it looks awesome.
