1950 Olds
I'm going to mess with your head a little here. Pics will follow after I've in inflicted my imagined story of the Olds.
Lee has just made junior partner at Batten, Van Atta & Harken's law practice in Marion, Indiana. A subtle hint from a senior partner that
Lee's 1942 Chevrolet is not suitable transportation for an up & comming lawyer has caused him to go car shopping.
Fords are too common, and something more upmarket than a Chevrolet is needed. Chryslers only offer flat head sixes- too sedate for our hero,
Mercurys are just a tarted up Ford. A convertible or hardtop would be nice, but he can't be too flashy, it wouldn't do to upstage old man Harkens new Buick Roadmaster.
What to buy? An Oldsmobile 88 fits the bill. A sober color & modest Club Coupe body. Since is is a partner after all, lets splash out on trim rings,
a heater & a radio. No Hydramatic for Lee, he's a stick man.
Boy, is that new Rocket 303 engine something! Lucky he's a lawyer- there could be some speeding tickets in his future.
Now back to reality. Waiting for the PVA on the rear window to cure. Window fell out during the final wash, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Both are out standing. The 50 Olds and the collection. Nice work. That Red Paint really shines in the sunlight.

You did a great job on it Chris. The paint, the BMF, the fat walls all work well together to create just the right look.

When whitewalls were w-i-d-e ! Nice work and a good example of the chrome era. Really good collection too of Buicks and Oldsmobiles. I see a brown car, top row 4th from the right that looks pretty rare, don't think it's a Toronado, maybe a late model Riviera. Top row lt. blue Cutlass or Buick Special is unusual too. Thanx for sharing fotos!

Toronado it is. And spot on with the Cutlass too. The wagon is due for restoration- the BMF is falling apart. I've run out of space in this cabinet, to get the 1950 Olds in I had to remove the '63 Starfire.
It's currently in for a light makeover- polish & New BMF.
Cheers & thanks for all the compliments.

Great job. The color is spot on for 1950. I'm old enough to remember the excitement when Olds brought out the OHV engine. Seems like everybody, at least in my family, wanted one.
