It's a lighter red than wheels isn't? It's looking good. Keep it coming!

Same red, and both are red paint on red plastic. Perhaps the light? I do have some slight shade issues where I shot red over black plastic, but
even there I used a silver between the two.

ATM I'm looking for the water tank! Took it downstairs for paint over the weekend & its vanished. Opel Blitz Fire Engine - Page 2 3868354571

Hopefully it will turn up, other wise I'll be searching for tips to build a timber tray body for it...........

Got the BMF on the window moulds & all the glass in. I've made the filler panel for the footwell area that is now exposed since I went crazy & opened one side of the bonnet.

Its gassing out as we type, should be able install it tomorrow & drop the cab on the chassis.
Then some BMF on the grill surround. I'm glad I departed from the kit & added the BMF, it looks great against the red.

Look out for a photo if it comes to fruition.

Cab on for a test fit. The BMF is leaving a residue on the paint, so I might let it set for a while longer to let the paint cure even longer.

Since this is a post war truck, I decided to give it some chrome, hence the side moulding. Grill & drip rails to come. I reckon it works well
with the red paint.

Maybe it's just me, but at this stage it could use something to take away the mono-color look. Black bumper maybe, black grille, just needs something extra. Fire engines always seem bright with brass, and chrome or nickel plated fittings on equipment. The rest so far is fine, luv the engine work!

Good point you make there. I'll investigate a black grill. Thanks for the input.

Cheers,

Chris

Slowly moving to the finish line. Tank painted & test fitted, cab fitted. Some BMF on the hinges'n'handles to break up the red some.

It's looking good Chris but I think the front wheel 'holes' need a blackwash.

Looking at the pics I have to agree with Al & Mike. Not sure how I'll do it, and I might start with a grey.

Any thoughts?

Just fill them with thinned black paint Chris. Thicker than a wash, but much thinner than paint. 50/50 should do it.

Pump on & a few odds 'n' ends too . I'm going to try using heat shrink for hose on a reel.

As of last night. Working on the ladders today. The hoses on the sides were the most boring bit of modelling I've ever done. Each one has about 80 corougations each and I cleaned the parting line
out of all of them. About 640 of them all up. Also heated & bent them to acheive the 'sag'

And this is why my WIPs have cat hair in them!! Susu, with the standard measurement of scale.

These things are sent to try us Chis.

Good work though, she's looking good.

I see you applied a wash to the 'holes' in the front wheels. I think they could do with a couple more coats though.

Keep at it.
