Re: Farm Pickup
Cool idea, but the owner sure has been careful with it, no battle damage. And all 4 wheels match. I'm thinkin' it's driven by one of those "city cowboys," all hat and no cattle.
Fender and door replacement are pretty common on old trucks!

This will be a fast work truck with the LS-1 engine in it. Excellent project.

Re: Farm Pickup
Maybe some front mudguard (fender) damage to explain the missing grill & bumper?
A section of steel pipe/channel & some parts box headlights perhaps?
I'll cease raving on & leave it to you, its your build/ vision.
Scratches down the side are a nice touch too.

Since I am in "ranch truck" country, I can get you plenty of reference pics if you like.

Sam,
I'm just up the road from you relatively speaking. I just have to watch the traffic on my street for reference.

Re: Farm Pickup
I like the idea Dan. Are you going to leave one door in primer? That would be a neat touch methinks.

Re: Farm Pickup
Early 90s Chevy trucks had door hinges that were glued on. It was common for the drivers door to fall off and be replaced by a used one in this case a white one. The right fender was replaced with an aftermarket one in black primer when a tree jumped out of the forest and ripped off the original. There will also be scars from encounters with barb wire fences and steel gates.

Don't forget the teeth marks on top of the hood and fenders from the horses.
