Re: Big Rat A sedan
Thanks guys.
He forbade me to do yard work. I'm supposed to keep it elevated. Stitches (staples) to come out next Friday.
Doing well as can be expected. No pain, some discomfort, but I'm able to hobble around with 1 crutch.

good luck with the recovery. Knee issues are a real pain. Staying hydrated, and extra protein intake will speed recovery.

Itchin' to get back on the model !
Yesterday, (behind my wife's back), I hobbled out to the shop and took some measurements so I could figure out a layout to make a bomber seat from while I lay around in my recliner.

Re: Big Rat A sedan
Had the staples (25) removed yesterday. They don't want me doing anything outside, but I can set out in the shop and model (like I haven't been sneaking out there anyway for the last two days)
Anyway, I had laid out the bomber seat in cardboard, upper left, to see how the sizes would be. Then, Making some corrections, I made one in styrene (upper right). All FUBAR, looks like a factory reject. More corrections , and back at my desk, I was able to lay out a more precise one.
The finished seat plus pad.

Tank support brackets installed.
Scratching a new 12 volt battery and holder.
And starting to patch in the floorboards with some signage.

Re: Big Rat A sedan
Nothing overly exciting to report. Putting the Gen Lee Hemi together some.
I did go out for a bit this morning and cut/bent some aluminum tubing for the exhaust pipes. I got down an old ( probably over 30 years, from the old model RR days) container of Radio Shack PCB Etchant solution ( acid). It still had some kick to etch the tubing.
Having dinner at daughters today, so may get back on it tomorrow.

Re: Big Rat A sedan
Got some progress worth showing today.
Rear wheels permanently on chassis.
Top chopped and pinned and mocked with front wheels in place temporary. Had to relieve front of right cowl to clear rear exhaust pipe.
Now we can get somewhere !

Doors chopped and front hinge locations filled. Plan is to convert to suicide opening doors.
