That latex paint job looks like a undercoat for a burnt car diorama with all the bubbles...you may have just stumbled on a new weathering process...?

Now it looks like an alien tech liquid metal beast caught in the process of morphing into an Earth style vehicle to better blend in for its covert mission ... or something like that ... what was in my coffee?

Re: '41 Willy's Pro Street Curbside
Lol, sorry guys.
Ok so the reason behind the last step was the result of my lack of experience.
I had never used a wax/degreaser before, and to be honest never really put any thought into what is actually was doh.
I had decided it was ome to wipe it down before I cleared it with PU. We had some Duplicolour wax/grease remover at work so I gave the shell a light wipe down. Oops!
It removed 90% of the chrome effect while leaving a faint impression of the original location.
Not wanting to go through the blue raisins process again but not wanting to give up I decided to use a brush and the latex to dot every location again and respray the chrome.
Then I went a bit off the rails and covered it as you saw, I used a tooth brush and flicked the latex onto the body. I really had no idea what would happen.
In the end I got the chrome back and this neat little effect. Of course it is covering the entire shell but is only visible on the roof. I think on a 1:1 it would actually look pretty cool. Being that it is more of a black chrome effect would only be seen a certain angles.
Anyway here is the result with a bit more work done on the leaf too, still need more detail and touch ups where the shadows meet up. I still have a few more things to sort out in general before I actually clear it such as the area around the roof, this will be redone. Also, the front end (checkers) is a real mess after the last step, it looks very "muddy" I am trying to figure out how to regain some of the pop it.

I'm not sure what I expected' but it sure wasn't that.
You are knocking paint creativity out of the ball park Curt.
The leaf really does look like it is floating in mid air!

Re: '41 Willy's Pro Street Curbside
Just a matter of time before our entire country is legal. Most of the time cops look the other way up here anyway.
One morning about 10yrs ago I got pulled over for expired plates while driving my framing crew to a job site. I had four guys including myself in the van. They had just burned down a huge fatty. When I opened the window it was like a scene from a Cheech and Chong movie, big cloud of smoke rolled out of th van window, it was January so it looked even thicker with the cold weather.
The cop never said a word, I thought for sure we were done for it. Lucky for me and us, you see it was a Friday and one of my guys was carrying about 2k worth of weed for his clients on the job site. Crazy morning for sure.

That's an amazing paint effect, I may have to pinch that sometime in the future, that's the thing with these forums you learn so much.
