Re: 8th scale Pontiac.
Yes I like them, Al - but going gold/bronze anodised might not mix with the body colour - and my original ideas of colour are out of the window if I use silver alloys.
Just when I thought I had it all worked out in my head
As you know Sam, I build my American vehicles with a UK slant - and do you know how few warm Summer days we get over here ? …..we Brits like to keep our toes cosy and warm all year round !
Actually I deleted a huge chunk of unrecognisable plastic from the firewall in front of the passenger seat, assuming it was the Air Con/Heater…..I did a bit of research but made up brackets and drilled holes simply to give it a bit of detail. It’s not a great kit, just a 1/25th blown up to 1/8th.

Using Alclad 2 anodisers over Alclad 2 Aircraft Aluminium will give you a range of colours Ron.

Ron, I think i need to send you all my 1/8, and let you build them. All I ask is that you send a couple finished ones back to me.

Re: 8th scale Pontiac.
Hi Sam……Thanks for the tempting offer - but I still have a couple that I cobbled together that need finishing from the last batch you sent me, and possibly a third. But my body is struggling to get those finished - as well as the latest Firebird. I was considering selling some of the finished 1/8ths along with my Dinky toys, but my son won’t let me - which is nice that he appreciates them.
I must admit that I enjoyed the build rather than seeing the finished article - but it’s a sod growing old ! 🥴

They say “no news, is good news”….. but not in this case.
There has been zero progress since I last updated this 1/8th Firebird build.
The box sits in the corner of my office room, looking at me, saying ‘come on, get me finished’ - but alas, although there has been much thought and visions of how I see it finished, it hasn’t gone beyond that.
It’s been a case of another saying “the mind is willing, but the flesh is weak”. Back pain from my osteoporosis has thwarted me recently, but I intend carry on and see it through….it’s a challenge, and I like challenges. I’m not done yet !

Re: 8th scale Pontiac.
How very cool! I had a 1/8 scale old "T" hot rod and yes, they take up a lot of space! In 1/25 I had a kit (mpc?) of a firebird "formula" that came with parts as an SCCA racecar. Thanx for posting great pix and for the hard work you do so well!

Re: 8th scale Pontiac.
Thanks.
Big doesn’t always mean beautiful, and I have always thought the front end wasn’t a patch on the previous model.
Currently I have about nineteen 1/8th scale models in my loft man-cave, but this has to be my last….as you say, they take up a lot of room.
I once bought a Lindberg 1/24th kit of a Firebird wagon, but it was no more than an early click together model. Like most of my kits, it got sold on.
