Large scale Model T dilemma
Here are the 1\8 Model T projects that came with the '32 stuff. Not much of a dilemma really, with all the T kits I have, I wont be keeping much of this. I will be keeping the resin Buick nailhead engine. I really cannot fathom why anyone would take this expensive of an engine and glue it together before painting it.
This look's like the start of a drag car?

This looks like the start of a nice little track style on '32 rails.

Re: Large scale Model T dilemma
If you are wanting fenders on a Lindbergh Tall T, then that is a brass rad 1911 model, with quite simple wings - but if you are wanting the later curved variety, that needs a bit more work.....but not impossible.
Don’t expect every model to turn out a show car, thanks for the ‘rat rod’ and barn find fad, those that don’t turn out perfect, can with a bit of weathering turn out to be special.
.......Just in case you are selling the Big’T’s, because you think they can only be built in a couple of ways.....here’s mine, with threads coming too.
Incidentally, we Brits are all familiar with the Nailhead Buick - to us, it’s the infamous Rover V8.

Re: Large scale Model T dilemma
Oh, I know that they can be built in many different ways. I grew up with model Ts, they were my dad's favorite car. We would butt heads because he built his all stock.
Now that I look at these again. Both the track style and what I would call a drag car (think that blown flathead), I believe there is an aluminum roll bar in the parts boxes, as well as a set of skinny wire wheels and some wide tires....
I would want the earlier T fenders on the coupe, or chop it ? I'm talking mail slot chop. The options are endless.
Oh yeah! I can hardly wait to see more pics of your cars.
I love your builds!
The other thing that nobody talks about is room. I had a built 1/8 Pocher truck given to me. My father-in-law and I were talking and came to a conclusion that it should be turned into a car hauler, with 1/8 cars on it. Then I realized how much room it would require....

Re: Large scale Model T dilemma
I have started going through the parts boxes. On box number one currently. I had forgotten that there were sprees from a Jaguar kit, and what looks like a complete engine. I then thought of that red bodied T above and wondered what it would look like with the frame stretched and a Jag engine in it.

Hi Sam,
If you have a spare frame, why not use it as a project tester just to see what would or wouldn't work, same for the main bodies, use one for testing, if it works then do it to the actual build...
Just a thought...

Re: Large scale Model T dilemma
I made the 4cyl in the red T - but a 6cyl.Jag engine could fit without stretching the frame by moving the tub back, and/or cutting the firewall to allow the engine creep into the interior.
It would certainly look different without too much chopping about.
....or as Andy suggests, just build up a chassis - and see what fits.

Re: Large scale Model T dilemma
After seeing what Ron started with in the last 'T' that he posted, I remembered the one a friend sent me awhile back. Last of my 'T's.
