I built this one around '83 or '84. The #15 decals on it are actually dry transfer that you rub on. It looks painted on. No clear edges like on water transfer decals. I think I painted it with red lacquer from automotive touchup paint spray cans. I did have to do some minor restoration a couple of years ago. The photos are more recent.
But I think the #15 on the hood and radiator are painted on with masking. The #15 doesn't show up in the front photo but you can see some of it in the 3/4 angle photos behind the grill.
The kit came with some wood contact paper for the floor boards. I used a piece of wood veneer you get from those metal cigar tubes. I don't smoke cigars, they reek.

And that's metal? It must weigh a bit. I bet it wasn't cheap either. Either way, great job and a joy to look at.

Yeah, it is mostly metal. I think the engine may have been plastic. The seat is rubber. I even had to assemble the leaf springs, all the individual leaves sandwiched together with the straps wrapped around them. You can see some of that at the bottom of the last picture.

Nice one Mike.
I had the styrene version for around five years but then sold it on. Should've really kept it in hindsight.
