1927 BMW Dixi 3/15 PS Daz......
..... or a 1922 Austin Seven in disguise!!
In 1927, Automobilwerk Eisenach of Germany, bought a license from Austin to produce Austin Sevens.
The Bavarian Motor Werks, (BMW, producers of aero engines) were struggling after WWI under the Treaty of Versailles, (Germany was prevented from producing aircraft) subsequently bought out Automobilwerk Eisenach in 1928, in order to enter the automobile industry. And so the BMW motorcar was born.
The kit is by Revell of Germany and is 1:24 scale.
I only built it to fill in the time between my last build and the truck build starting on September 1st. It has it's faults but I'm happy enough with it for a six day build. Never intended to add the HT leads, but.......!!! LOL
The doors were missing out of the kit, so I had to make a pair complete with hinges. I also had to add a couple of interior door pockects and door handles. Both up and down tops were covered in medical tape as the originals had no texture to them.
The bonnet was a terrible fit, so I used the best side closed and the other opened.

For being so small, it is so GOOD! Only the thickness of the wheel spokes betray it as a model. Well done!

Very nicely done Al,
Shame about the fit of the bonnet ....Still it's a nice way of displaying the engine .... looks like i'm having to do the same with the bonnet on the model A through poor fitting

Hi Al,
I love this, although for some reason I thought it was bigger than this, top marks to you...

Looks great Al. What a cute little car. You don't realize how small it is until it is next to our standard measuring device!
I also loved watching the video posted of the mud trials! Great video, and it had me laughing at the antics the driver and passenger went through to gain that last bit of traction!
What a nice looking model.

Size wise it reminds me of how the bug eyed Sprite looks next to all the other 1/24 and 1/25s I have.
Nice clean work as always

Thanks everyone, it was a fun build.
Ash, the steering wheel rim is Revell Aquacolour Wood Brown (382)
Paul, the body colour is Tamiya XF-76 Gray/Green (UN) a military colour I know but it just seemed to suit.
I'm also on the lookout for another as I'd like to convert it into and Ulster:
or a Brooklands:

How sweet it is. Looking at it by the bottle of paint it's hard to believe it's 1/24th scale or 1/25th either. What a very tiny, very cool car.

They're still so small! I do like the variations, and am reminded that many of the conversions were seriously hampered by terrible brakes that didn't stop that well and overheated quickly and became almost useless. Technology on brake design and materials came a long way as time passed.

Al: You do come up with some of the damnedess models I have seen and then do an outstanding job on them.
