Hello from London (Ontario) and the Sprue Lagoon

Hello Everyone!

My name is Adam, and I was told of this place by Plastic Freak at the London Model Show we just had (September 22, 2018).

From what I've seen, this is a pretty cool place, and I look forward to hanging out here and enjoying what's to offer.

My callsign here, and on a number of other boards, is Faust. That's also the name I gave to my 1980 Trans/Am, and that's his hoodbird I use as my avatar.

I've been modelling since I was 12 (30+ years ago) and even though my uncle was big into car modellig, I started with Jets. Then I went to robots (like Gundams) and have been expanding my interests ever since. Now, about the only things I don't build are surface warships (but I like subs) and rigged planes, but I might build a biplane to give it a go regardless.

I have a huge love of the odd, ecclectic and generally weird. This goes for cars, planes and all other things too. I prefer old kits of interesting subjects to new "Shake and bake" kits of more mundane things. I love loser cars from the late '70s forwards, and have a real passion for "everyday" cars, vs. classics, muscle cars and exotic sportsters. However, I do have a couple of those in my stash, too.

To share my love of the hobby, I opened my own modelling site in late 2012. It's called the Sprue Lagoon, and it's got a bit of everything. It's where I display my kits and share my experiences and whatever other information I've got regarding the subject. Of course, it's chock-full of weirdness and attitude, and I hope you'll all swing by from time to time to see what I'm up to.
