Another Hello from SW Ontario
I am a member of the IPMS London Club and Curtis and Sarah joined us tonight and chatted up this forum - thanks for coming in and bringing some of your builds Curt and Sarah! My name is Geoff and I’m retired and finally getting some time to model, between renovations, construction projects and babysitting grandchildren. I admire all work, Enjoy history and speculative creations, but don’t appreciate rivet counting or similarly unhelpful “advice”. I almost never “finish” a project, although I did recently get a Wingnut Albatross to within a whisker of acceptability! I love planes - wanted to fly as a teenager and got 55 hours in a Cessna 150 before university costs killed that idea... Currently on the bench I have a M60 Patton tank in Korean markings, a Von Braun moon rocket, a V2, Bomarc missile, 1/72 Millenium Falcon, 1/144 Discovery NX1 (from 2001 movie), 1/48 Hawker Hunter, 1/35 Mounted Cossacks (Club Project to build outside your comfort zone...), collection of Enterprises from Star Trek.. and so on. Each is a different “skill challenge”, as I work at getting back what little skills I had years ago before life intervened.
Curtis - you are an impressive guy and I hope we keep seeing you and Sarah at the club. I know it’s a drive from Brantford - I have to drive in from Lake Erie now that we “Escaped to the Country” - but it’s a good group, without much (negative) judgement!

Hey - it worked - twice?!? The little bit of masking tape on the cowling holds it in place, as I wanted to be able to show the engine. I know - this should go in finished builds. I will do better next time!

Thanks GB - I’m so used to spelling my name that I’ve kind of given up. Years ago my first assistant typed it into an early word processor and it selected “Goof”, and she went with it...
Thanks Curtis - I love the variety of schemes for early planes, but was put off by rigging. The Wingnut kits are so incredible to me that I took the plunge and found I actually enjoyed it. Kind of a zen thing or something!

I’ve been trying to find where I modify my profile to creat an avatar and insert info, but haven’t found it. I’m using an IPad - is that the issue? Do I need to go in on computer? Sorry guys, but I tried to dig around first...

Aha - that doesn’t appear on the IPad app. Must be on the computer version. Thanks Curtis.

Much prefer using the computer on the site, although the Ipad is more convenient for my lazy butt! The pic is from a 2018 "retirement present" from my daughters when my brother and I flew in the Cdn Warplane Heritage Museum's Harvard. Amazing experience, even though the helmet looks dorky!

Geoff, try not using the Topic app. I don't use it, I found it very cluncky. I use an IPad, look at the top of my images I have posted here. Get rid of the app, you don't need it to be on Skids.

Will do Curt. I am on the computer now (where all my photos are stored anyway) and am trying to "host" a picture of a build of mine on the "in progress" section, but it doesn't seem to want to take the picture - doesn't refuse it - just nothing shows in preview. I will re-read the " posting pics" bit!

You can switch to the web version on your iPad Geoff, I do it and its much better.
Click the three lines next to the bell in the top right corner then select Web version.

Hey Geoff and welcome to Skid's Place. They are a great bunch of guys on here..... true.... one or two oddballs but we tolerate Shay and Curt anyway.!!!
Love that bi-plane. Real nice job.
