Re: 1982 Corvette Stingray
I was beginning to think this was a ghost build. The Indy Pace car was that shade of silver.

Great color.
Looks like you're getting a lot of painting done - a change in the weather?

Sure is and I'll take full advantage of it.

Re: 1982 Corvette Stingray
This morning I painted the lower colour. I'll hand paint around the wheel arches as I though it would have been too difficult to mask it. I'd show the pictures but the image hoster seems to be playing up right now. I'll try later.

Re: 1982 Corvette Stingray
Okay, back on to this one. Another kerb/curb side model with no engine to worry about.
I put down a base of Eisen/Steel for the metals and saying as the block is orange I based it with a neutral grey.
I painted the block with a few coats of flat orange then went over with blood angel orange then drybrushed the highlights back with hobgoblin orange. There is no starter motor here so i'll raid my spares box.

Nice. Looks like they've done a better job than most with engine detail of a curbside version.

Re: 1982 Corvette Stingray
Thanking you. Finished up the exhaust system. Just the tail pipes to go.
Now, looking at the interior it seems that they have provided a 1969 version and not an 80's. There is no decals for the instruments so it's paint brush time. I tried painting the numbers on in white but my skills aren't good enough so I went and painted the dials white and scratched out the numbers in black. A little bit of red paint used for the needle. While the dash is from the 60's, I'll try and give it that 80's paint job.
