Re: 1/8 Revell 65 corvette stingray
Nice to have a big scale model to exhibit in one's collection. If that's a reissue of a very old kit, I remember being disappointed in the lack of some detailing. I suppose molding-in or skipping parts both saves on die-making costs and there are fewer parts for kids (then and now) to lose. You'll have a tuff choice in picking interior and exterior colors. There will be big areas of each! Best of luck and skill on this classic!

I saw one in Antics in Coventry last week, the box is massive, like a small case you can bring on a plane almost!

Ya the 1/8 kits and boxes are massive. Great for when we need coke bottle glasses to see and do 1/24 scale kits. I am not too far off that myself. First I will graduate to the my 1/12 scale kits then move to these monsters.
Good work thus far Ken.

That is easy do what i would....put it in a store type showcase. if I ever get a hold of the Monogram 1/8th scale 80 Pontiac Trans Am kit that is where it will be once done.

Size and budget are too much for me also. I'd love to super detail something like this, Of all of the Corvettes, this is the year and style I like the best. be nice seeing this come together!

Me too....I just think it would be a blast to take a long time adding small details to one just to see how much one could add to them. Who knows...maybe even working lights...? For me it would have to be one that has opening doors...just another opportunity to add to it.

Nice, I thought the price of 81 quid in Antics was good.

Re: 1/8 Revell 65 corvette stingray
Hi all another update, got some primer on (its halfords plastic primer) Ive used it loads of times and never had this reaction before
It's on both the doors (which were part of the body till I cut them out, so all the same plastic and yet the car body seems unaffected
Seems strange will strip the doors and re spray them, hopefully that will correct it.

Re: 1/8 Revell 65 corvette stingray
Big scale kits are a challenge in themselves. Flaws in plastic are more obvious and trying to get a smooth finish can be frustrating. The other challenge is that unless one is big on custom crafting parts, one is stuck with the parts on hand. I admire anyone who tackles the big kits.
