SU-152 Russian Howitzer, DML, 1/35
so im going to have a crack at this
never done a DML kit in this scale so that will be fun, and so will the individual tracks
you get a choice of 5 schemes......1 chinese from the korean war and 1 polish/3 russian from WW2
i might have a go at a winter whitewash paint job, seen it done with latex instead of hair spray ad fancy a go...........but then i might not, we shall see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SU-152
lots of plastic
2 of these

Nice subject Paul
I tried latex once but I reckon it's not as good or as controllable as hair spray.

Re: SU-152 Russian Howitzer, DML, 1/35
Houston, we have a problem........
oil filter had dried so i wanted to give it a coat of matt varnish over the top, for a couple of reasons i ended up using a rattle can of humbrol matt acrylic and it had a funny reaction (and i did the king tiger at the same time and didnt get it on that) and when it dried its given a sort of white 'bloom'
only thing i can think of is to give it another wash, maybe a really thin green one, rather than a black one to try tone it down
any one else got any ideas?

No idea Paul sorry, but looks good as a base for a 'winter white scheme'.

I'd leave it as is. Looks like a very light frost to me.

someone else has said its happened to him and all he did was give a coat of gloss which got rid of it, then matt coated again, so we shall see

I'm not an expert on weathering, but it only looks a little 'dusty' to me.

Bad that the varnish reacted oddly but good that you were able to deal with it without need of a strip and re-coat. One thing about weathering and aging is that errors can often be worked into the effect. Looking forward to seeing the results of the 'fix.'

a different make of matt varnish has done wonders, just a patch on the front still remains, will try and hide that with something
so tracks on (and they were a pain in the nether regions!) , a few greeblies added, next step is add some more and then some weathering
