57 Ford (AMT)
This build stretches back to the last BMC group project (Wagons) when I was going to try to combine a glue-bomb AMT 57 Ford with the custom top from the 64 Lincoln.
As BMC shut down the wagon was not passing the eye test and the project was scrapped. As part of that build I had removed the molded in exhaust from the floor boards. As the wagon conversion was added to the parts pox, I held on to the chassis work with an eye out for a 57 Ford kit.
I was able to find fresh plastic at a San Antonio IPMS show and the time has come to (hopefully) get it on the shelf. No wagon this time, it'll be a street gasser and a straight axel.

Re: 57 Ford (AMT)
Here is the basics of the straight axel. The leaf springs are from the AMT Willies Kit and the axel is a (I think) Revell 50 Ford Truck item. The wheels are from a Polar Lights Funny Car. The fronts had the axel holes filled with centers painted. The tores are parts box (front) and rears from an AMT/Round 2 "Big and Tall" set.
I'g going to fit the 428 from AMT's "Tallageda" kit into the 57; built from the Box with some parts box headers.

Re: 57 Ford (AMT)
That floorpan has come up well, moulded in exhausts are a real PITA.

Coming along nicely! The huge slicks really give it an aggressive tone.

Looks great. Nice work on the chassis getting rid of the dreaded molded in exhaust.
