BMF "Ultra Shiny Chrome"

Anyone else had issues? My problem is that it won't cut cleanly when the blade is dragged along it. I've not had the problem with other BMF foils.
I tried various shapes of scalpels, with little joy. 5 attempts to trim one piece is past a joke.
The blade seems to 'catch' and bunch up the foil, rather than cutting cleanly through. It's like the Ultra Shiny Chrome foil is more brittle?

I tried it once, never again, it's a lot thicker than regular BMG, doesn't stick that well, and is harder to get it conform to tight curves, you're better off sticking to the New Improved chrome bmf.

Bugger. I've just bought 2 sheets of the wretched stuff. Some Googling revealled the consensus is to steer clear of it, and stick to the regular.

I'll use it in non critical applications, and thanks gents.

I had this problem with 'Ultra bright chrome' at first. I don't know if It's the same brand as yours. My solution, a new and ultra sharp and I mean ultra sharp blade. I don't mess about when it comes to knives. It needs to cut the very words out of the air. Well that's exaggerating things but that was my fix.

I agree with the concensus that all the other BMF products are thicker and more difficult to work with. I've tried the Black Chrome, Ultra Chrome, Copper, and Matte Aluminum and have found the easiest way to cut, if you can, is to use a curved-edge XActo blade and roll it along for the cut. Similar precautions for tucking it into the details. Tuck it in with the edge of a toothpick or craft stick rather than drag the pick along the surface.

Also the Black Chrome is a nice product, but the black coating can wear off when applying, leaving the chrome understrata.

My first foil job was with the Ultra chrome which I used back in January this year. I had a hard time getting it to stick, and it curled up like a pigs tail when I removed it from the backing.

When I put the glass in, I knocked some of it off where there were tight bends. Thank goodness for Molotow Chrome. Touched it wright up and can't tell the difference.

The few times I've used BMF I found that pulling the blade wasn't as 'safe' as the method Mike mentioned, which is more like 'guillotine' cutting. Never used the Ultra Shiny Chrome version though, that stuff I am not familiar with.
