Helping our fellow brothers

Some of you already know I run a small disabled builders group in my area for a batch of gents stuck with no one or anything to pass the time but watch TV all day long. I took them over a batch of kits to build the other day and just the smiles are worth the efforts. It also gives me something to do and a purpose helping them and teaching them tricks and tips on building...sometimes I wonder who is learning from who..LOL.. Helping others out has it own rewards gents...these guys were almost lifeless when I met them...now their active and look forward to the visits. Funny how something so small can make such a difference to someone else.

That's great, must feel good, it's always nice to help people and I'm sure they are eager for your visits, you're obviously a very kind person.

Thank you gents...I am no one special I just have been in there shoes before and hated it its no life to have to try and live. After my car accident i spent way too many months laying in a bed with nothing to do at all...thought id go nuts. I have done this for about 6 years for them now hope to keep it going for them been trying to keep them stocked on my own and with a few donations here and there. It also gives me something to do to pass all the time I have and I am helping others that have no one else. A reward in itself. We all have the power to make a difference in some way to someone else that may need it. Right now there are 10 guys in the group...really good guys too. Thanks gents.

Good news...a member of another site has sent me 10 kits for the guys...man does that help out a lot. They will be very happy guys on my next visit.

great news...a package for the guys showed up here yesterday with 5 car kits in it for them to build...very nice and a real blessing. My thanks go out to whom ever sent them.

I know that this is an old thread but its taken some time to read through a lot of the topics here. I am impressed with your kindness. This is very nice of you to allow these fellows something constructive to do with their free time. I'm considering donating a number of kits to your group. Can you provide an address via PM where they can be sent? How about some pics of you and the guys building some stuff? I'm sure everyone here would enjoy seeing them.
