Re: Styrene Addict. Show us your latest kits here.
The Japanese line of decades ago, ENTEX here in U.S., had some sports cars in 1/20th. I have the Fiat x 1/9 and (I think) Porsche 914 in that scale. It was a shame that scale didn't catch on. As to a lot of the painting techniques like weathering and custom work, when we were kids we learned the "tricks" by playing with paint in cans then later airbrushes. The practicing was fun since we had no great standards or worries. Things seem harder now that we have high expectations for ourselves. I tell new builders I meet at hobby shops and model/toy meets just to have fun. If you want to try harder to make better models, take your time. The gifts many builders at these sites have were either gifts of inheritance or thru years of practice. Important is to have fun doing the hobby.

Learning all the time.. I have managed to master brush painting without brush strokes now.
Thanks to info from experienced guys on the forums but I definitely agree.. Take your time because a rush job looks like a rushed job at the end and I think it may have been Al that told me once,"don't try to do everything all at once because that will never get you anywhere!"

Airfix kits pretty rare here in U.S. unless ordered by hobby shops or thru the Net. I agree that the steam engine looks fascinating and is a "must build" in the new year here!

With a loft full of unbuilt and unfinished models, and with my first grandson due in a few weeks time,
I gave my son and daughter-in-law instructions to keep Christmas spending to a minimum.
But I got this bunch of toys anyway....
- and today I picked up these from a local Model Railway Fair, for £12 the pair.

Nice haul Ron.
I picked up that Rav 4 several years ago, again at a knock down price. It's worth £3.00 just for the tyres alone. (Which is what I wanted at the time.) I wish I'd bought half a dozen back then.

Re: Styrene Addict. Show us your latest kits here.
Probably be a flurry of holiday scores coming.
Family gave me a Chev panel and a knife set that's lighted.
Probably won't use the lighted part of the knives, but the knife itself will join the tool box. Panel will have to wait until after the '40 build off.
