Revell 83' Hurst/Olds
I picked this kit up a month ago or so, I'am not a big GM fan but I do love these G-bodys, also figured I would switch it up from the typical Dodge/Plymouth and Ford route I normally take. Forgive me for the sideways pictures.
Engine ready for paint, this is an Olds 5.0 litre (307cid).
This is the first time I've painted a model car engine black, pretty bland if you ask me but because this is a replica Hurst/Olds I will build it box stock.
Engine final assembly.
Waiting for a turn in the weather to start painting, thanks for looking!

Re: Revell 83' Hurst/Olds
Looking forward to see how it turns out.
I originally wanted one of these kits, but when I saw pics of it on a Facebook model group, I was less than impressed. It looks to me like they scaled down the GNX or Monte Carlo as the under hood detail is all molded in just like the GNX & Monte Carlo.

I agree, its not the best kit, similar to that of the 70' Challenger, lots of molded in parts, interior quality is so so, certainly not a high parts # kit.
Thanks gents!
Alas some progress, got the body primed up and waiting for paint.
Engine is in, and undercarriage is painted. Like I said earlier, the kit has pretty low detail, still looks nice however, but very monotone with the various parts that are just painted black and silver, I guess I'am just use to building kits of cars in the more colourful eras.

Looking good. I like the monotone look in situations like this, it feels more 'realistic.' Looking forward to seeing the body painted.

Thanks gents! No paint yet, Ive been slacking on the model car building lately, hoping to get some painting weather shortly, the interior is ready to be sprayed, the body just needs sanding, its primed sitting on the bench. We'll get to it yet.

Re: Revell 83' Hurst/Olds
At last a proper update, after a very long hiatus from model building, I got back to the 83' Olds. She now has paint, waiting on the first coats to dry before I lay down the silver two-tone, then it will be ready for decals.
The interior is done for the most part, the red is a much darker tone, but my flash makes it look quite bright.
Hoping to get this one finished soon, been in the works since August!
Thanks for lookin

Thanks guys!
Thanks Kats! The kit came with some nice gauge decals, and the 15th anniversary sticker for the dash! nice detail, I wish my camera would show it all!

Just a marketing gimmick Al really, there was a drag version back in the day from Lenco I think, the American Contingent will have more information no doubt.
