Re: Monogram S'cool bus
Great fix for crappy kit exhaust Colin. I'll have to try your bicarbonate tire trick one day, sounds good.

Good call on the dry brush bolts Colin, exhaust tips look good too.

Re: Monogram S'cool bus
Ta muchly.....
Back on this after a day with the grandkids daaan saaarf (and a day to recover lol).
The front wheels are 4 part jobbies, went together well with no trauma.
The front suspension is simple but reasonably effective, might do something more with it when a few more things are in situ.
The motors have been assembled fully now the two halves of the chassis floor are together .. wired the plugs up and will be adding fuel lines etc when i have the tank in place.
Got the wheels on and leveled up ... rolling chassis now (sort of .. i've glued them in place lol)

You really want to start building some Hot Rods with ridiculous engines Colin.

Re: Monogram S'cool bus
Ta chaps !!
The idea for the "pick up truck" group build is a VW beetle, V8 front engine / rear wheel drive and a pick up bed .... see what a mess i make of that first Shay heh heh

Re: Monogram S'cool bus
Union made a kit of a 60's Beetle, standard or Drag with a Hemi in front, 2 different chassis.
I have an old buillt up one, they cost a fortune if you can find one. Another one is on my list.

Re: Monogram S'cool bus
Cheers chaps
Decided to give the chrome water tank a miss and repaint it in a more natural way .. i've gone for the high impact plastic look.
Did a little research and some dragsters just have a recirculating cooling method so thats what i went for ... water tank piped through both engines and back, just enough to cool for a tear down the strip.
Added a water pump made from a brake servo (VW?) and some water pipe made from thin clear garden strimmer line

A kit I had no respect for. Thanks to your effort and skills, it's a worthy competitor. Good show!

Re: Monogram S'cool bus
Thanks chaps
The air intake is a biggie ... links both motors, thought i'd do a little pin work using the yellow plastic itself as the base colour.
Gave it a handbrush of red, flicked it with a few drops of water off a stiff brush to give a bobbled effect which would happen if it were painted and got hot ... makes sense to me lol
tape off and will get a matt laquer (hairspray) when it's fully dry
Got the cockpit area a bit more built up
Petrol tank and scratched electric pump in place
Ran the fuel pipes and an electric cable to the pump
Master cylinder in place and brake pipe running into the floor ..
