Re: Large Scale Build
Thanks Buck and Gary
Thanks Shay. I have 4 coats of clear with last two pretty heavy. I am color sanding a handful of runs out.
The horizontal surfaces flowed out pretty well but I got a touch of orange peel on the vertical surfaces even with the heavy handed coats of clear.
Since I painted it in a residential garage and not a paint booth there is some dust nibs to rub off as well.
All in all with this being my first paint job, in my garage, with low budget equipment, I'm happy with the results and hope I don't mess it up when I buff it out.

Re: Large Scale Build
Thanks for the props guys.
My dad and nephew are flying in from Kansas this weekend so I won't be working on it for a while.
I hope to finish color standing and polishing and have the Yenko stripes on it in a couple of weeks.

Yeah they are 3M vinyl. I used to help put the big graphics on the school buses when I worked for Collins Bus so I've done it before.

Re: Large Scale Build
Can they be pulled off and repositioned if you make a slight mistake?

If I use the wet method of application, which I am planning on.

Re: Large Scale Build
Lovely color. Getting paint on "just right" is always a challenge between too thin, too thick, too close and too far. It STILL looks beautiful in the fotos.

Re: Large Scale Build
Thanks Snake and Mr. Hirakawa
Its going very well Shay. I did mess up the stripe on the hood because I let it touch before I sprayed it with the soapy water. It got lots of bubbles in it. I peeled it off and I ordered another decal for the hood.
With the help of my son Rob the rest went on great.
