Race track refugee..

This started out as an Audi A4 DTM race car,the roof was removed and a new one made and fitted and the C pillars were moved back.Lots of bondo has been inoilved in smoothing the waters...LOL


The rear window is going to take a tweak or two (snap.....) to fit properly but things are shaping up nicely.it has taken about 20 hours to reach this stage,so wish me luck!


I see a few familiar faces here,but for anyone that doesnt know me I had a stroke last december and find using a leyboard somewhat tricky so please excuse any 'typos' LOL

Great start    Don't worry about the typo's, I make them all the time but we do have a spell checker thank goodness.

Here are a few more pics of the kit,the rear quarters are more sheet plastic than kit so needed blending in a tad..
The front of the chassis is plastruct/evergreen and alloy tubing and is taking shape,the trickiest part so far is blending in the rear arches to the sheet plastic and has taken some time to get right...

But I have got some colour on the kit,the grille is flat black and has been foiled to jazz it up a bit.

Not familiar with that car. rear sculpting is interesting.   

Got curious, so Googled Harron's suggestion in the general section.

Can't say I would be a fan of that body's designer. It is interesting, I'll give it that.

Clay I got this kit in 2010 because I am a big fan of British Touring cars and this was the closest I could get.

I have fitted some plastic to the sills/rockers to help the arches flow into each other.




I have also foiled the wheel rims,they are off a Revell Porsche 917!!

Moving forward in a good way.

You've got yourself some work to do on this one...but looking good so far !

I have got the back window to fit nicely,it involved a couple of bits of plastic card and some bondo.


Then I got bored and poured a can of Red Bull over it....  

More progress,it is now a sedan delivery or van in plain english.This was done with an SD card holder as it was the right thickness..


After a splash o bondo it looks awful...But you need to break a few eggs to make an omlette!

 Bodywork can be frustrating, so take your time. It'll be one of the unique cars at this site!

Cheers gents,well the bodyis near done...Got the sides sanded today and they look ok..It as then cleared to seal it in.

Comin' along there Nigel! Startin' to look like a roller now. Keep at it, I like it.
