This is a bit obscure for a UK based modelling forum, but I'm putting this out on every forum I frequent.

Thanks to noise complaints from just two whingers, race meets have been cancelled at Queensland's Lakeside Park Raceway. Just two! How is this possible that just two people can shut down racing?
Lakeside has a great history. Drivers such as Clark, Amon, McLaren, Rindt, Stewart, Brabham, Hill and other greats raced there.

Cruise & track days are unaffected at this point. So, please, everyone who has an interest in keeping one of the best tracks in the country open needs to contact any or all of the following people.

Division 7 Cr, Denise Sims: Denise.Sims@moretonbay.qld.gov.au
Ch of Plan’g, MBRC, Mick Gillam Mick.Gillam@moretonbay.qld.gov.au
Dep Mayor, Mike Charlton: Mike.Charlton@moretonbay.qld.gov.au
Mayor, Allan Sutherland: Mayor@moretonbay.qld.gov.au
Shane King, MLA Kurwongbah@parliament.qld.gov.au
Mark Ryan, Min. Police Morayfield@parliament.qld.gov.au
Stephen Miles, Min. for Health Murrumba@parliament.qld.gov.au

A link to the speedcafe article:https://www.speedcafe.co...-due-to-noise-breaches/

Could those who are into Facebook & Twitter spread the word too, we need numbers. And please raise the topic on any automotive forums you frequent as well.
Thanks for reading, and hopefully we'll have a positive result.
Cheers,Chris

I think in the UK, it's like the track was there before you moved in, so you knew in advance, so you can't complain.

i used to live not that far from Donnington Park.......the locals were always complaining about 'noise' and East Midlands Airport wanted to shut it under 'safety reasons' since its on the take off route......however it was known they wanted to extend the runway....that was originally used in the 30s and has been in constant use since the early 70s

Mallory Park had its permission to do track days reduced cos locals were moaning about the noise, that was about 4 years ago.......that track has been in use since the 50s

me? if i lived near a race track id love it!......id be asking for a season ticket and my own parking space

always amazes me these people that move close to an air base then complain about the noise from the planes!
