USS Oakland - Matchbox 1/700

This is a conversion of the Matchbox USS San Diego 1/700 scale. I shaved off much of the oversized chunky detail and replaced the smaller guns, torpedo tubes, gun tubs, radar, etc with parts from my spares box. In one of the photos you can compare the San Diego, Matchbox OOB with the Oakland. While building the Oakland I also built the USS Walke, a conversion of the new Tamiya USS Hammann. It is seen in the photos, a destroyer in a camo scheme. Thanks for looking.

Holly geez Chris that is a ton of upgrade work removing the chunky bits and replacing all those guns etc. Very nice work all round!
