Gloster Gladiator, Matchbox, 1/72
being done for a matchbox gb elsewhere, no revell repops allowed
always have great memories of matchbox kits
i was first into modelmaking in the 70's in my teens, grew up in a village where there was two places to buy kits..........the post office was always stocked with airfix (i can even remember when there was airfix paint in squarish glass bottles!), and then there was the newsagent that carried a small stock of revell..............and then along came matchbox .....the newsagent started stocking them as soon as they came out, think the rep didnt even bother going to the post office since they were airfix stockists
matchbox seemed like a breath of fresh air......nice crisply moulded......unusual subjects and of course coming in 2 or 3 colours ......the armour had those bases
ones i remember well would be the boeing p12 and the strikemaster and the halftrack with the aa gun
so for this trip down memory lane i picked up a Gloster Glad for next to nothing.....one i never did back in the day
must be a late issue as it comes in a single colour styrene and not the box with the little window in......i almost feel cheated!

Without work you cannot buy glue and paint, so look at it that way LOL.

Re: Gloster Gladiator, Matchbox, 1/72
cant.....this is for a Matchbox GB somewhere.....can only use the decals thats in the box
in this was an early ww2 camo one or a late 30's aluminium one and since ive recently developed an interest in interwar era RAF biplanes it will be the ally one
should look a bit like the one in the Shuttleworth Collection but with different colour stripes....will be green

That's a nice finish Paul.

Re: Gloster Gladiator, Matchbox, 1/72
Very Nice !!! I applaud you for finishing the little fellow. (Something I never seem to do!)
As bipes go this one is relatively straight forward and simple. I have a 1/48 version in winter camo that is stalled at rigging and canopy paint.
