1955 Chevy Cameo Pickup (Chopped + Jacked rear)
Here,s the kit I started with I never have done a chop before so this is a first for me.
The cab lost about 4mm from the posts.
The rear spring hangers got cut off and refitted upside down and 40x60 thou evergreen blocks 4mm in length were fitted to the front of the springs to increase the ride height.
The rear shock mountings also got relocated on the rear axle.
Rear tub also got the wheel wells modified.
Frame got painted black and engine got painted red and a blower fitted.
Wheels and tyres came from a 64 GTO 2 in 1 kit
Thin timber (1mm) was used to deck the tub out.
All the bodywork was painted Peugeot Iron Grey.
Interior tub walls got painted tan.
Since these pics were taken I,ve also fitted Chocolate Brown carpet.
More pics to follow Tony.

Very cool and unique color and good chop. Windshields can be the hardest part to get right after doing a top. Luv the engine and good luck on the final work!

Re: 1955 Chevy Cameo Pickup (Chopped + Jacked rear)
Thanks for the comments and interest got the windscreen sorted spot on but the rear window got a few crack in it so I bit the bullet and painted it black. After it all it is a modified pickup so whatever goes. Here is some more pics of the build. A coat or two of clear coat and it,s now all but done.
Modified the front grille with some aluminium mesh.
Also used some 7mm aftermarket headlamps.
A couple of close ups of the lights as they are a cracking good items for the price.
Gave it a pair of sidebars and a rear bar under the bumper.
Also fitted a chrome tank in rear for show, a bit of BMF and some decals although I,m not struck on them
as they were done by a laser printer on white decal paper and needed trimming as close as possible to the print
but as I got them cheep enough a begger can,t be a chooser.

Pretty good looking truck. I really like the mesh grille. It appears to be right in scale.

I like the stance, the chopped cab looks fitting. The head light lenses look like a real fine product. Nothing wrong with a "limo" tint for the rear window, nice solution.

Some good details there worth copying...and when I saw the narrowed back axle, I thought you might be going for duallies !

Thanks for the comments.
Buck the mesh is aluminium car body repair mesh don,t know what you guys in the USA call it though but I,ve been using it for years for grilles on the big rigs.
Curt the lights I usualy get at the IPMS shows here in England but the guy has not got a website so I stock up with them at shows as I often ditch the kit lenses and replace them with these.
Ron I,ve often thought about doing a duallie pick up or small wrecker but keep knocking it on the head because something else allways crops up.
BTW how far down are you I,m at Tow Law, Bishop Auckland.
