I searched around and found a resin jukebox on the Jimmy Flintstone site.  The jukebox arrived today.

The jukebox is typically Jimmy Flintstone--well cast, sharp lines, good overall appearance, lots of flash, etc.  Looking forward to prepping and painting it.

There was a surprise in the box too.  They had included a Coca Cola machine.  Don't know why, but it was truly appreciated.

Just thought you guys would like to know how Flintstone does business.  I will definitely be ordering from him again.

I have bought several bodies from Flintstone, but never got a surprise in the box. They both rock.

Looks good John. When I first saw it I thought it was a 'shrine'..... LOL.

Nice freebee too.

Now you need some Coke bottles to go with it:  Coke Bottles

I have ordered from Jimmy Flintstone also. And also got a surprise in the box. It was a resin Tiki shift knob.

Have not done anything with it yet, but it was a cool surprise!!

Finished the gas pump this afternoon.  Here are a couple of photos.

Don't know why I am having problems with multiple photos.  If you want to see the second photo then click on the link.

The next detail piece will be the icebox.  I also am going to  build a Coke cooler similar to the one I did for the Texaco Station diorama last year.

I bought a juke box from Jimmy Flintstone recently for the Frenchies diorama.  Very happy with the casting.

Frenchies Bar - Page 5 001_co18

The only drawback was that I have never done this type of painting before.  I got the juke box done last night, but am not at all happy with my talents at painting it.  I think once installed the box will be adequate, but I am rather disappointed with the outcome.

You will have to click on the link for the second photo.  If anybody has any suggestions for improvement I am more than interested in hearing them.  At the moment I am giving the Purple Pond serious consideration with a complete start over.

HOLD OF ON THE PP John..... there is nothing wrong with that! It looks just like I remember them. All gaudy metalic colours. Spot on in my book.  Frenchies Bar - Page 5 1705482731

I have gone into edit mode to investigate your multiple photo posting problem but cannot find anything out of the ordinary.

Can you try doing a few test posts in the test forum please? See if you can post multiples there. If not, go back into edit mode and see if you can 'add' a second one.

I think the Juke Box looks pretty good. When I first saw the resin juke box I wondered how you would do the Neon look that they had. I think that you have done a very good job at it. Something that would be hard to do.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I think what I'm going to try is remove the red portion and repaint it in the blue. I'll post it tomorrow or Tuesday to see what you think.

Here's a shot of the corrected juke box.  I think it looks much better all blue.  Not perfect, but I can live with it.

Al:  Photo posts are no longer a "multiple" problem.  I'll send you a couple of tests tomorrow.

Frenchies Bar - Page 5 Empty Re: Frenchies Bar

Post by Guest Wed 30 Apr 2014, 3:50 pm

Been giving some thought to just what type of vehicles would be found at Frenchies on a Sunday afternoon in July.  Given my history, I am sure that once in a while the good old boys at Frenchies got a little bit rambunctious and it was time to call the "big belly sheriff" to get things back under control.

I went to the stash and found this.  (Note to SWMBO:  This is why there is such a big stash.)

Frenchies Bar - Page 5 00215

I picked this up at the IPMS contest in Salt Lake City last year.  Someone had started the kit so using  it depends on if it is all there.  I think it is, but going to have to inventory it.  If I do decide for sure to use this, I'll start a separate WIP to cover it.

Frenchies Bar - Page 5 00317

I just recently picked up this "big belly sheriff" on ebay.  I think he is perfect for the diorama.  Given my limited experience painting figures though, he will be a challenge.

Frenchies Bar - Page 5 00419

When placed on the diorama the sheriff will have handled the problem and sent the good old boys home.  He will be standing in front with  the mayor who came by to see what was going on.  The mayor wants to shut Frenchies down as this is the third incident in three weeks, but the sheriff is opposed to that because Frenchies is really the only entertainment in town.  We'll see how things work out.

Great storyline John. I love it!! This is going to be great when done.

Even though mine is not too big, I did show this to my wife as justification for "THE STASH"!

Al: This is set in Louisiana, so CHP would be a little off the beat. As far a I know the only time we had guys in Louisiana was in New Orleans after Katrina. Going to try to find some sort of generic sheriff decal.

Colin: The photo problem seems to be solved by using the in-house photo program. I don't understand, but it seems to work.

Went through the stash again last night.  I think, unless something changes, the following two will be the other cars parked at Frenchies.
