427 Cammer Cobra.
Here is another glue bomb from the early '80s rebuild. Monogram's 427 Cobra. When I built this I polished the metallic blue plastic, swirls, glue marks and all. This time around it's getting modern wheels, some body shaving, engine transplant and some other refinements. A bit more like a kit car.
First thing done was a new engine. The stock 427 side oiler
Replaced with a 427 S.O.H.C. from Ross Gibson
Did some work on the bonnet to fill the large gaps, and some shimming to bring it up level with the body
Modified the broken window frame (top bar missing along with the glass)
Filled any unwanted holes and removed body emblems
Modified the foot wells to fit the new engine
Made some new mufflers out oh alloy tube
That's where I'm up to with this. Since these pics were taken, I tried to open the fender vents and stuffed them up completely. So I have decided to not have the vents at all, now filled in.

Re: 427 Cammer Cobra.
A CAMMER in a Cobra Dual Quads and the sky is the limit. A stock single 4bbl cammer dynoed out at around 615bhp, a stock 427 side oiler was around 425 bhp with dual quads. 427 Cobra would run 0 to 100 then back to 0 in 7 sec. flat so I wonder what a cammer would run I want to drive one set up like this and mhataybe with a little blue bottle too

Nice work Steve.
Good call on the cut down windscreen. It goes well with the lowered body height.

Looking nice, but 0 to 100 and back to a standstill in 7 seconds?
A veyron takes 9.9 seconds, then again it weighs as much a small house.

Re: 427 Cammer Cobra.
The S.O.H.C. engine was wide, but breathed well and put out the power. In a machine as light as the Cobra it would move out! Thanx for a different engine and a different idea!

Great work all round especially reworking the hood fit issues. Love the cammer, you made it fit like a glove. How would the foot/pedal box be in the real 1:1? Just woundering.
