Thanks Shay - straight out of the kit, but with a bit of subtle shading.
I’ve made my mind up what the colour striping will be - orange and green.....Irish Racing Team colours !

BRG is actually Irish racing green Ron, the Brits wouldn't close the roads for the 1903 Gordon Bennett race, so they got on to our lot who said no problem. They painted the British cars green in respect and it's stuck ever since.

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
That was interesting. It has always been a nagging question in my mind how racing colours came about, and why. Considering there are only three base colours in the colour circle plus black and white - how did the other racing colours evolve .....so I looked it up, and it’s all rather contrived in the end.
Well, I’m still not pleased with the final ‘white’ of this car, it still looks cream to me, and since adding the orange stripe, wheels and roll cage, it has the optical illusion of being beige in some lights, but I’m too far into the build to change it now. Maybe the green stripe I hope to add tomorrow might change the overall look ?
I had a bit of time on the old sign computer (Windows98) and played about with decals and lettering for the car, but the question is will it transfer to my newer Windows10 laptop, and will they print okay if they do. Time will tell.

Ron, it's a Race Car, don't worry about the brightness of your white paint.
Now, I know I live a few hundred miles away from you, but I can't see the orange stripe yet, maybe it's just the weather!

I’ve decided to stop posting photos, and instead I’ll be describing what I’m building in words and leaving the pictures to the imagination.
‘It’s an off white 69 Camaro in off white with an orange stripe’
Can you see it ?

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
This clairvoyancey nonsense doesn’t work, does it ? - because in my head I see a finished model, but in reality it is far from it. All the little detail is taking time. Cutting the exhaust system down to create side exits, interior mods and engine and chassis detail all taking their toll. The body has the green stripe, but needs clear lacquering.....and will the new wheels fit ?.....and as I was demasking, I realised it is Castrol GTX colours ... I never saw that coming !

Fantastic work Ron.
The exhaust dumps look great as does the cage. Hell it all looks great.
How about 'pin lining' the stripes to meke them really pop.

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
You’re probably right Al.
In my real signwriting days, I used to get asked to pinstripe cars - just single lines along the car. I had all the right brushes, and working on the nearside (UK) from back to front they came out great first time - but the opposite side for one reason always turned out to be a chore. It just felt wrong.
Today, my eyes wouldn’t cope with the real thing - nor small stuff....I know my limits Al.

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
I hear you on that Ron but how about using some black electrical tape cut into thin strips on a cutting mat. I did it on this years ago, clear coated afterwards to stop shrinkage and it's still the same today.

Nice Camino Al. .....I have some ‘cast’ vinyl, that is supposed to be shrink proof, but I still don’t trust it. I might try it another time though.

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
It’s been a bit of a hit and miss day on the Camaro....just detail. A bit of masking tape creep has spoilt a couple of areas that need to be addressed once paint has dried. I’ve added more electrical wiring, but fitting that bottom radiator hose was a chore....just like in real life! Seat belts look a tad oversize, but they’ll have to do.
....But my decals seem to have come out okay after working my way around using three computers. I won’t be showing them until the car is actually finished - for there is a twist !
Hopefully, sometime next week.

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
The Camaro is almost there.
The glazing is in, but I had to trim the plastic to clear the roll cage, but I haven’t tested it yet for fit - hopefully once everything has dried I’ll ‘spring’ the body over the chassis later today.
The car isn’t looking too exciting at present - I hope once all is together it looks the part, especially if the decals come out as expected.

Re: ‘69 Camaro - or Isetta ?
Well, waddy ya’ know - it doesn’t half look bad.
Currently everything is resting together, unglued, but needs properly seating before I do that - along with the rear valance and the rear bumper. The bonnet/hood is a pig to fit closed with the additional things I have added on the chassis firewall, but I’ll sort it. The wipers need adding - and inner door tops need making up, which I never thought about until this fitting.
But yes, to my self critical eye, I’m pleasantly pleased.
Next pictures should be in the finish section - but as you know, problems come up when we least expect them.
