1960’s Ford Anglia Hillclimb racer
L'Anglia est terminée - et pour une fois, je suis content du résultat final.
.....I’m so chuffed, I’ve turned into a Frenchman !
Yes, the Anglia is finished - and for once, I’m happy with the final result.
As usual, there are lots of things I would like to change, but considering what I started off with, it’s come out far better than I’d hoped for.
Thanks all for the encouragement, because a few weeks ago it had been stalled for months. I guess my next move is to make up another case to keep it in, which is the sign it’s a keeper.

Thanks Guys - much appreciated.
Merci Monsieur Shay - no, I’m not Terry Ross, but I wish I was a couple of ££’s behind him in my bank account. Even though Terry and I have moved in similar circles, I am man enough to admit he has more talent than myself - but I’m better looking ! 🤪

I had a few chats with Terry back in the day Ron, he seemed like a sound bloke.
He'd love that Angle Box.

Wow!!! Ron. I am totally gobsmacked and as my mother would have said, that almost never happens.
From 'Jelly Mold' to this stunning model you have produced with all the scratch building is nothing less than amazing.
Well done mate!

Re: 1960’s Ford Anglia Hillclimb racer
Thanks everybody, I’m just glad to get it finished, and what’s more I really enjoyed the ride.
Of course it looks better in real life than two dimensional photos, but don’t they all ? ...and yes, I wish I had taken more time to get things perfect, but there is no such thing. It’s just a pity there are no other 1/8th scale models of British cars available to build, as I’m ready to try my hand at another model.
Revell have recently released a repop of the 1/8th Jaguar E type, in Germany, but I already have two of those. They are priced at just under £150 - but older unbuilt issues were being advertised for sale on Ebay for up to £1000. This latest issue is certainly going to kill the value of those.

I noticed when the Trans Am came out, that the original issue prices weren't really affected. I happened to buy mine right away, for $80 shipped. Now, you cannot touch the new issue for that price. The Jag might follow the same route.
You did it again. Now I expect to see the two Jag builds, as well as the Corvettes...

I’ll get around to it Sam - eventually.
School holidays have started, and my wife and I are being requested for more help with our two grandsons - so for the next six weeks spare time may be limited, but I’ve already begun to throw the first Corvette thread together - so keep your eyes peeled !

Seriously Ron, you added trim to the rear side windows for example.
I don't think I'm alone in wanting to know more about this Magic if you're willing to share.
Go on, ya know ya want to! lol

Well, if you insist Shay - I’ve got nothing better to do....
The trim to the rear side windows was just adding another layer of plasticard to the back of the already opened up window, making the opening just slightly smaller. Same goes for the fronts to give the door depth, and layers of strip make up the quarter lights. Rear and front screens got the same treatment. Gutters, side trim and hinges are just plastic strip, and handles are shaped offcuts in layers, and plastic micro tubing for locks. Working in big scale helps - but it’s not magic.

You even have the little kick up on the chrome on the rear quarter panel.
Don't let the little boys into the model room Ron!
