Scammel ballast truck.
It's an Airfix 1:72 kit of an army tank transporter to be converted into a ballast truck, not a cargo truck but a truck with lots of weight over the driving wheels to maintain traction.Often several trucks would be linked together to pull very large or heavy loads of several hundred tons.
So firstly the cab area was built up and a rear wall fitted to it as originally the rear wall was just a curtain..
Then it needed a ballast container,so it was put together from some Evergreen sheet. In time it will be filled with rock as ballast.
It's a seven seater so handy for the crew..
A mockup piccy showing how it looks at the moment..

Re: Scammel ballast truck.
Cheers gents.
Alas my s.d. card has locked itself so might...be able to take a few pics tomorrow with the old camera......
But I have it sprayed navy blue and the tyres are painted too, plus I have mounted two spare wheels on the body side, front and rears are different sizes you see.
More tomorrow fingers crossed!

I like this one, the body contrasts nicely with the chrome-y bits. I would never have thought that was 1:72 until I saw the last pic. Somehow missed it on the box...
The first WIP shot makes it look like the parts are made of different kinds of marble
