A mild wash would bring out the dimples. The final decision is what makes you happy. 8)

Re: Chopped 1934 Ford Coupe.
Bozo here screwed things up.
I forgot to do the roof panel in white before spraying the body colour.
No matter, mask up, white primer and white paint. WRONG. Stupid rookie error. I forgot to clear coat before applying primer/ paint and I had bleed under. Into the pond it went.
Not enough clear blue left so change of plan on the colour!
Hopefully, decals and clear coats tomorrow.

Sweet. Is that the same Red you used on the 29 Model A Pickup Truck you built?

To be honest, I like the red better. But just look at the photo on the left of my 1:1 VW, RED of course  .

That's a much more flattering color! This is gonna be sweet either way! But don't you have to respray the frame as well? Keep up the great work Al! 8)

Thanks guys.
Yes Buck, it's the same colour as I used on the 29 Pickup, only this time it's over gold instead of silver.
Jason.... the frame et al, is already done. Just didn't show it.

When you get clear on this thing it is going to pop. The graphics look like they were made for it.

Al: It's looking good in spite of the goof. I think I like the candy red better anyway.

Re: Chopped 1934 Ford Coupe.
Thanks guys.
My plan for the roof rescue was to to a little raggy edge clean up, then cover it in white self adhesive paper. Well that didn't work and I wound up with an even bigger mess.
At this point I also noticed just how much whiter the roof was than the scallops!!!
Time for plan B.
I cleaned up the best I could then brushed on some gold paint over the missing bits, followed by some clear red.
Next. I sprayed some micro-pore medical tape with some satin black paint.
Followed by a rough painting of flat black.
The panel was then covered with the medical tape and the 'surround' picked out with a blunted cocktail stick.
Finaly, I trimmed away the access in the same way BMF is trimmed. The sides were a little off, so I added another strip either side. May re-do the whole roof at a later point.
The result may not be perfect but at least it's a pretty decent rescue I think.
