Pirate ship tree house Empty Pirate ship tree house

Post by Geezerman Thu 11 Apr 2013, 2:23 pm

Several years ago, I built a pirate ship tree house in one of my ficus bonsai. I, shortly after, mistakenly watered it with some water that was mixed with Skin-so-soft (mosquito repellent). Tree died but I saved the stump with the treehouse on it.
Getting plants out of my greenouse this spring, I happened to wonder what I could do to this butt ugly fig (Ficus Wandii) that I had been unsuccessful to train, in anyway I liked, for about 12 years.
So, I dissassembled the pirate ship somewhat, to free it from the old ficus carcass, and rerassembled it on this lemon (not lemon tree, just a junker fig).
Not as neat as the original, but it gives a rustic flavor. :drunken:

I love it Clay. If ever you get sick of it, send it my way. It's way cool.

Thanks, guys, but I have to give credit. The idea came from a modeler, who unfortunately, I can't remember his name.

This was my first shot at it, and it was built around the trunk, which goes thru the center and out the top.

Hi Mr G,

This is super cool Sir, both the tree house and the Bonsai trees, the two really do go together...
