Look what the mail dude delivered today.

Success, after 15 years of searching. Trac_l10

It's a new, rare, super duty, all steel, 4-pinion Track-Lok unit. I've been looking on and off for 15 years for one. I have 4 complete pumpkins (3.0, 3.55, 3.8, and 4.11), but no posi's. Best of all, I paid less than the cheapest used one I've seen, delivered.

It's in the teens with a wind chill below 0, so I'll just wait a little longer to install it.

It's actually an 8", though it will fit in a 9". It'll go in my Italia.

Always had a traction problem. Came with a Boss 302 and 185r-14 tires @ 2,500 lbs. They have been upgraded to 225r/60-15, but still traction limited with the 3.8 open rear end.

I love cars that dance. All my race cars had locked rear axles. However, a locked rear axle can be just as dangerous as an open rear end on a high performance road car. A well set up limited slip is a reasonable compromise. Besides, I'm getting older. But I can still out-drive my daily driver's ABS and stability control, especially the yaw algorithm.

Finding something after decades of looking is great! Getting it for a great price is thrilling!! Luv the vehicle and wish you luck in taking care of it. Cold here south of you too, cold over much of the nation's middle, and it's Spring!
