1963 Rambler Promo
I mentioned in Ash’s thread of my Promotional Mustang - and I thought you might like to see the Promo of a 1963 Rambler Classic in 1/25th scale, bought from a Toy Fair some years ago.
It has a frozen front wheel friction drive and lost it’s red tail lights, sadly the body is badly warped from extended time in a Dealer’s hot showroom windows.
I know these were popular give-aways of the period, and available in several different brand dealerships in the US.
The base shows no indication who manufactured it, but the grille and impressed 1963 number plate look very much like AMT of the day.
Has anybody else out there got anything like this ?

Re: 1963 Rambler Promo
I was at a Toy Fair searching out Dinky Toys, Shay - I picked it up and put it down a couple of times, put off because of the warping.
Priced at a tenner, after returning again to the vendor, he offered me it for a fiver....and I thought it was worth a punt.
It’s certainly different !

They were made from acetate or something unlike the styrene we're all used to I think Ron?

Re: 1963 Rambler Promo
It’s a lot thicker plastic than used in models, and from what I have read on the tinternet, finding one that isn’t warped is pretty rare.
