BMW M635CSi (Fujimi EM)
A new start from the forge bench. I got hold of this old new stock unopened from 1986 and had the pleasure of opening the seal. I love the Fujimi EM series as they have a level of detail that simply doesn't exist today. There's even a tube of glue supplied.
Some people may say they are over complicated but I relish the challenge and look to the end product.
Not much done on it yet but the process has begun. I plan on Metallic green and I'll document It's progress on here.

Nice one Dave. Looking forward to it.
The 635csi is quite probably my favourite Beemer.

It's a rattle can. Tamiya TS-20 Metallic green. It's slightly translucent hence the black undercoat.

Re: BMW M635CSi (Fujimi EM)
Right, back on with this rock hard lump.
Ok, preparing the boot space is requiring some precise measuring.
I based with Goblin Green before putting down Glistening Green. It needs to be lifted out at will and there's a battery box to make as well.
Underside.
Some of these bits haven't been formed properly. I had to make the square holes by hand as they were solid. A Fujimi quirk. It took quite a while to clean up all the chassis bits as I want this thing on it's wheels before continuing with the interior.
I've started using some black and black/green inks to make a start on dirtying it up a bit.
No brake lines depicted so I'll have to make my own. I used lead wire, nice and easy to form and straighten. I also added a few more pipes here and there.
Fuel tank in and the front crossmember, struts and brakes in. I had to cut some chunks from here and there to guarantee the engine would fit. Fujimi doesn't hold your hand with these things.
Engine in and some more intricate suspension pieces fitted.
Back suspension parts in and brake lines followed through approximately enough. A bit extra weathering and rusting done. I'm going to have to make some drop links at the front and back because they're not included and I can't leave it be. I may need to make a fuel pump too, if I can be arsed.
Coming along well. I'm pleased with the progress.
Thanks for looking.

Re: BMW M635CSi (Fujimi EM)
Looking really good, especially the attention to detail on the brake lines. ....and although you have issues with the kit, it is still very detailed....I wish I had your eyes !
Weathering just about right too, as it does make it less like a factory fresh car. Nice work indeed.

Re: BMW M635CSi (Fujimi EM)
More work....
I've made drop links for the front and back sway bars. I've made from scrap a couple of fuel pumps/filters or whatever they are, i'm just following reference photos. Just the exhaust and wheels to do then I can turn it over and finish the interior. It feels really fragile and I hope it doesn't fly to pieces when the wheels go on.

Loving the detail.
I used to follow a guy from the Netherlands that scratchbuilt 1/24th trucks, right down to cable ties.

Looks like another great build coming along. Looks like a nicely detailed kit right out of the box too.

Re: BMW M635CSi (Fujimi EM)
Exhaust is finished, wheels detailed, valves added and wheels on. I can now work on the other side.
I had to remove quite a bit of material from the alloys as they were way to deep for the tyres. I augured the wheel knuckles with the supplied screws to lessen the trauma of putting the wheels on and it's just as well I did as they still were quite a tight turn
