1959 Chevy Impala Custom Convertible
I finished her up today.
I built this one when I was just about 13/14 years old and of course I used ALL the custom options. This was therefore a nostalgia build and WAS also going to have all the oprions including the scallops. (Hi Dave!!! LOL) However, I bowed to my eScale peers and moderated it some.
Revell kit and fun to build but not without some problems. The biggest of which was the body to chassis fit.
I parted out the wheels for those you see here, which, along with the disc brakes, were kindly donated by Shay, (dublinboy). Thanks Shay.
I wired and plumbed the engine and I also replaced the top hose with some silicone tubing, In the WIP, it looks a bit stupid so I removed it and inserted some thin solder in order to get it to hold a more convincing shape.
I was going to install seat belts but couldn't find a ref photo of a 59 with belts, so decided to leave them out.
Gloss coat is my usual 2K Auto but for some reason I cannot get it to show the true shine!!
Colour is Zero Paints Aston Martin DBR9 Racing Green.
Those flattened fins are IMO, the best fins on any care EVER. Absolutley drop dead gorgeous.
