Step son was showing me this after Thanksgiving dinner. I can't believe what a beating that 1959 Chevy takes. I thought it would ruin the 2009. Seeing is believing.

That is just one way that modern cars are vastly superior to the cars gone by. 001

But unfortunately, modern cars cannot compete on sheer 'style, flair and soul'. 1959-2009 Chevy Crash 3868354571

Doesn't surprise me a bit, I saw a small Renault Modus wipe out a 940 Volvo estate somewhere recently, the Renault was about 12 years newer at the time of the test.

Yep, old cars are cool, but they're death traps compared to today's cars. But you still get some people who will tell you that "modern cars are no good because they crumble around you"

The 'driver' of the Malibu is going to be sore & sorry- maybe some broken bones.
The 'driver' of the '59 isn't going to feel anything. He's toast.

I always drive more cautiously in my '69. It just doesn't stop, steer or brake like modern cars.
At least it's got seat belts.

Imagine how I felt driving my 32 Morris with cablebrakes!!! Even at 35mph, I had to 'plan' my braking!!! LOL

Did you have to "book ahead' to overtake cars:18: I've never driven a cable braked car, though I've had a few 4 wheel drum cars- still have one.

Nice car Al - I’ve never had anything that old.
There is a chap in the village who is a member of the North East Pre-War Austin Club
and has a small collection of similar sized Sevens and a Ruby - that certainly wouldn’t stand a chance in a shunt with any modern car.
