1972 MGB Roadster
Well I finished her up tonight. It's the first model I have completed since my wife died and boy does it show.
Anyway, it's done. As usual my Nemesis (BMF) raised its ugly head again with the windscreen surround and moulded in quarter lights. Bloody horrible to do it was.
I parted out the kit wire wheels (Horrible) for some period painted Minilites and lowered the suspension by approximately 3mm (3 scale inches)

I've always liked a yellow car. Very eye catching. Love your interior.

Stop giving yourself a hard time Al, that's really nice.
The lowered suspension and painted Minilites really work well

Re: 1972 MGB Roadster
the color is very 70s and suits it quite nicely the lowered stance (im always partial to that) and the wheels are spot on very neat craftsmanship and build quality cheers to you Al. by the way did the tonneau come in the kit or was it scratchbuilt?

I think its a cracking model, I especially like the tonneau cover shots showing the dash.

Great job, Al. The color is perfect. I like the open top version best, giving a nice view of the interior.

Great build! The body colour is fantastic and the soft top adds that extra punch to the look. The changes to the wheels and stance are exactly right as well.

I'm digging it. Great job on the top & tonneau cover. And I share your BMF pain!

Re: 1972 MGB Roadster
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Much appreciated.
The BMF on the moulded in quarter lights REALLY WAS a PITA. Three attempts and they still look rubbish to me. Oh well!!

Looks great to me Al. I had a 1972 MGB. Talk about a love/hate relationship. The only faulty I see with tyhis one is you have the steering on the wrong side.

Re: 1972 MGB Roadster
Sorry I overlooked this one until now. Great work on a kit with its own limitations! I'm very impressed with the kit's ragtop and tonneau! Minilites I can do without, but I understand the general poor quality of many kit's wire wheels. I like it just fine and didn't notice any serious flaws in the BMF. You're this site's BFF, thanx!

Re: 1972 MGB Roadster
Hi Al,
Looking very tip-top Sir, yellow and black always looks a great combo, there was a hard top that looked very similar to yours in my area, not seen it for a few years, so not sure if it's still going, also, excellent choice on the wheels, they look so much nicer than the wire ones (I've hated them since I had to scrub and polish every single spoke on a restoration we did in the garage I worked at when I left school)...
Once again, excellent job Sir...
