Looks fantastic.
Leave as is or patina it?
Yup, just a test shot for an idea.
Gary, thanks.
Al, ya man, kinda going with a Steampunk industrial theme. Thanks.

Thanks Paul, it was just a test shot. I'm still working out the paint scheme, waiting on the custom cut vinyl masking test shots.

It's Back! Love the initial metallizing and looking forward to seeing what the 'experiment' brings forth.

Thanks Kats. Going in a different direction with the chrome.
Going to do the orange/black fade ember thing I did on the Batmobile except with more intent and planning.
I mad some new wheel for it tonight.
I took a set of wheels and tire's from the 1/20 Tamiya Lotus 25 F1, and wheel from the 1/24 TomDanels S'cool bus. The big rig wheels from an actual 1/25 scale rig were too big for the tire's, the rims stretched the tires on the one side.

Thanks guys.
I am pretty happy with them so far. I think they look better then the big rig wheels.

Yeah, those new wheels are so much of an improvement. Great job on the modding.

Thanks Katz.
I am back on this for the next week. I am hoping to have it ready for a show next Saturday.
Going a different direction with the body paint then planned, no real surprise there eh. The new plan is starting to come together in my mind, still figuring out the tape lay up.
I decided to do a license plate head liner, side walls, and floor.
I used ever plate in my decal stash and then I had to go rummage through my kit stash to find another 10-12 more. I ended up used about 75 license plate decals.
For the paint scheme I spent a few hours last night making up a bunch of tape.
Some of the tape is 0.39mm some is 0.15mm. To aid with working with it I sprayed the white vinyl a few colours so I will be able to see when/if it flips over.
I also made up some tucked interior 'fabric' for the seat and door cards. Not sure if I will be using it or not.
A sneak peak into the paint.

Cool! The license plate decor puts me in mind of a place in Victoria, BC, called Big Bad John's. I visited there about 30 years ago, sadly haven't been back since. The striping is mind bogglingly thin, kudo's for having the patience to make it. Liking the look of the body, trying to imagine the paint scheme but not having much success, lol. The upholstery looks appropriately striking to work with the license plates. Looking forward to the next developments.

Wow! Cool effect. Is that a tape by the mic pics, or a sticky thread?

Thanks Mike.
It's some tape I made up using a plotter and manually cutting it with the plotter. It's so small in every aspect that I roll it up on rings as I remove it from the vinyl.

Kinda have this going in some sort of direction now. I am thinking a gold metallic brown top coat.
I also cut some more tape and spooled it up in a more precise manner. Once a layer is rolled up I cover it with a layer of Tamiya tape the roll up another layer of the cut tap, etc etc. This is MUCH more effective then the previous method.

Re: '32 5 Window 3 scale inch chop
Cheers Gary.
It all went sideways when removing the tape. Turns out Motolow is NOT a good base to paint over even if it has been wet sanded, I should have sealed it first. Soooooo the shell was stripped back and we're starting my over, ugh. Not a total loss, I wasn't happy with the stark contrast of the orange and midnight blue.
I will be redoing the design with new cut tape and a gold base top coated with a metalic brown.

I liked that design and he orange/ blue contrast.
That'd been killer.
I'll have to keep checking back to see how you pull this out.
Keep it going !

Hi Clay! Nice to have you posting up again.
I'm going to go with the same design, just a different colour combo. I am thinking a random lime green to orange fade, and a rich metalic brown top coat.
Thanks for checking the progress out.

One of the risks of forging into the unknown is the possibility of a set back. However, the lessons learned will surely add to the excellence of the next attempt. But I'm also quite bummed by the muck up - that was a beautiful pattern. Best of luck with the next go through.
