The transporter is in fact only a steerable trailer which is towed by the Famo. The cab at the back of the trailer is for the guy that steers it around tight bends/corners.

I saw a Fire Engine in San Francisco with a geezer on the end steering the back of it.

Al:  The FAMO in my stash is 1/35.  Gonna have to build it just to gauge the size difference.

2.057 x the length, width and height which means 16.457 x the bulk.

As usual in this scale, the track wheels were a bit fiddly.

I think the guys at Revell must have been a bit doo lally tap when they designed this kit, I mean why give it a quite nicely detailed V12 Maybach engine and then omit all of the upper engine stuff!!!!

It's finished for now. Going to do all the Desert Yellow on all three models in one sitting.

Next up will be the tank transporter.

I'll try to get my FAMO together tomorrow.  Got to see them side by side.

Nice work on that little bit. The transporter appears quite complicated for it's size.

I was blowing smoke when I said I'd have the FAMO ready to photograph today.  This kit has 898 parts.  I'll start a seperate thread this morning and get started plugging along.

Mike.... the front bogey comprises 24 parts while the rear bogey has 35 (all plus tyres)

Mine eyes are getting fuzzy in sympathetic reaction to the idea of a highly detailed 1/72 scale kit of this type. It all looks so good ... and complex. Wow.

and bloody hell, at 1:76 scale, I din't expect it to have an engine, gearbox and some interior detail!!!

lol....the Maybach lump was a V12
