Had loads of technical lego when I was a kid Dave. Loved it.

you should try driving one......cramped, no room in the back, heavy clutch, feels like your bum is an inch off the ground......goes like the proverbial off a teflon shovel but totally souless.....my old BL Mini was one of the most fun cars ive ever owned

My Mam had a new Mini with the cvt autobox, it got 20 mpg, a 5 litre S Class Merc wouldn't be much worse!

It turned out to be a design error and was dropped by BMW, all stepped cvt boxes are gone now I think, early noughties fad.
She got a Golf with a 6 speed auto after that. 30 mpg around town, not great but a lot better.

I have it now, still does 30 mpg as long as you pretend there's an eggshell between your right foot and the pedal!
