Nice job on the engine! Who says that you cannot polish a turd???LOL

No I don't think I will go that far as most of it won't be seen. I'll look into it anyway.

It would look great with a light black wash.
Just enough to make it look like it is driven.

Beautiful work with the engine! Though I can understand the appeal of showroom I've always leaned more towards the 'used' look, so there's my opinion, lol.

Re: 1965 Ford Mustang AMT 1/16 Scale
Thanks Gary. I've put the wheel and the rally-pac cluster on. I wanted to use the Manta 4 steering wheel but it was so bent out of shape and broken that I just put the other one on. A bit of molotow and it shined up real good. I tested the door fit and it seems very good. I had to respray the doors and bonnet/hood as they were a slightly darker shade than the rest of the bodywork. All I need to do now is the door cards and then the interior is done.
The neatness I was chasing is coming together now. I must admit, I lost faith a while back. It was looking very messy under construction and paint. I'm very pleased with the progress now.

Absolutely luv the work! I expected little from this kit, but you really "duded up" a plain Jane Mus-tang. Is the air cleaner from the kit and did you improve it?

Re: 1965 Ford Mustang AMT 1/16 Scale
Thanks all. The air cleaner top is from the kit and it was all chrome so rather than strip it all off I brushed some primer over it and painted it in matt black and then very, very carefully scraped the paint off the raised lines and name using a new blade and a steady hand just enough to get through the paint but not the chrome. The filter itself was just brown and yellow painting and topped off with some spare mesh decals I had from the LaFerrari job.

The chrome on the dashboard is great. Molotow pen?

Re: 1965 Ford Mustang AMT 1/16 Scale
The only parts on which I used the pen were the steering wheel, rally-pac cluster and some touch up on the gear shifter. The rest of the detail is just plain old silver paint.
